Travel to CanadaWhy Now Is a Great Time to Visit Canada!
Canada is a travelers delight. It has some of the best skiing destinations, lakes, beaches, wildlife sanctuaries, waterfalls and trekking trails in the world. But what makes it unique is its richness and diversity, and the fact that you can find something exciting at all times of the year.
If you are an outdoor enthusiast you cant have enough of Rocky Mountains. These mountains surprise you with their snow-capped peaks, emerald green lakes and streams, stunning glaciers and ice-fields, waterfalls, hot springs, wildlife, forests and valleys. In some towns you can even spot grizzlies walking down the road during winters.
The jewel of the Rockies is Lake Louise. It is a spectacular lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains with glaciers. The other attractions are Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks.
The Canadian Rockies are also a great adventure hotspot. In summers, you can look forward to kayaking, hang gliding, mountain biking, golfing and fishing, while in winters you can indulge yourself in some spectacular skiing.
Then, of course, there is the irresistible Niagara Falls located in the province of Ontario. The Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side is one of the major tourist attractions of the world. The best way to see it is through the Maid of the Mist trip. These trips are heart stoppers. You are literally taken to the bottom of the falls in diesel-powered boats. The journey behind the Falls is equally mystical. You can hear the thunder and visualize the deluge as you travel through a series of elevators and tunnels.
Canada's Atlantic Coast is equally spectacular. The traditional tourist destinations are Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador. Warm and friendly hospitality, and stunning scenery and dramatic coastline make the east coast a "must visit" while visiting Canada. Whistler in British Columbia is a very popular destination. This resort town has the largest ski area in North America, and the longest ski season in Canada. Visitors can ski over 200 trails serviced by advanced lift systems. The mild weather and tons of fresh snow makes skiing in Whistler a unique experience.
Whistler also offers dog sledding, snowmobiling, ice skating, ice climbing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, hiking and backcountry programs. It is this variety that has turned Whistler into a favourite resort even in summers.
For those who love history, there can be no better place than Victoria in British
Columbia. It is incredibly neat and clean, and looks like a little piece of
old England. It enjoys some of the best weather in Canada. Summers are nice
and warm, spring is mild and there is plenty of sea breezes and flowers. The
winters are relatively mild and damp. When snow does fall, it rarely lasts long
on the ground. Victoria averages just 2-3 days per year with at least 5 cm (2
in) of snow on the ground. Tourists can explore Victoria's Inner Harbour, Butchart Gardens, Wax Museum and the Government Buildings that are lit at night. Young couples can enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through Victoria's James Bay snuggled under a warm blanket. Another historic delight is Quebec City. This city is full of old world charm and displays a distinct French heritage. Montreal is another Canadian city known for its French connection, as well as fantastic shopping opportunities and vibriant nightlife. The Prairie provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta are a land of wide-open skies, spectacular sunsets, and abundant wildlife. Every year, millions of ducks, geese, swans, cranes, and other migratory birds travel through the prairies enroute from the Arctic to their wintering grounds.
But the icing on the cake is Aurora Borealis. You have to head north towards Hudson Bay to gaze at it. Also, you should be ready to brave bitter cold if you want to see this magical sight.
